Finishing the Great Commission

by Pastor Marvin Cayabyab
Did Christ intend for us to finish the Great Commission in our lifetime or are we only to work at it?

I had to wrestle with this question since I started with TNET (The Training Network) three years ago. Now that I have completed the ten courses of the program, I can say that I am a changed minister. The training allowed me to see church leaders discipled, small groups multiplied, and churches revitalized and planted.

Through TNET, God gave me a deeper appreciation of Christ’s command to intentionally disciple through our Generation 2 students. Last August 5, 2019, I was witness to a preaching laboratory delivered by the young leaders of Jesus Loves You Church in Cauayan, Isabela. Our students, Joseph and Mimi Gamal, have done an excellent job in training the next generation of preachers and Bible study leaders of their church. Words could not explain the growth that they saw in their disciples, and they were excited to see two couples among their group starting a church plant soon.

Lastly, God used the program to push me further in laboring for the Great Commission. My wife (also a TNET practitioner) and I will be embarking on planting a church in a campus in San Pedro, Laguna. Indeed, through TNET, we will be graduating with a degree soon but the task of passing on the training and ensuring that new converts become multiplying leaders until the task is finished is far from over.
JUNE-AUGUST 2019 HIGHLIGHTS

No Apologies Training of Facilitators North Luzon 2019

Praise God for the 37 newly trained NA facilitators coming from churches (19 from Conservative Baptist Churches, 4 from Tabuk Fundamental Baptist Church and 5 others), organizations (7 from Leaders Impact/ Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ) and a school (2 from HOPE Christian Academy). These partners aim to reach 2,000 youth in North Luzon in a span of one year. They are also excited to deepen the partnership through other Wavemakers disciplemaking seminars.
